Extensive and successful working experience with development and management of complex, high value projects with a clear focus on the objectives related to safety, cost, schedule and quality.

Responsibilities have encompassed the complete spectrum of General Management and Project Management services for these projects from Technology selection, Front End development, CAPEX development, Project Financing, Tender development, Contractors and Vendor evaluation and selection, EPC Project execution through Project Implementation up to Turn-Key hand-over.

Involved in talent development of (young) professionals by means of training, coaching and mentoring of potential project managers.

Responsible for tender preparation, EPCm contractor evaluation and selection and managing the FEED and EPCm contracts for the HTDC project at the Botlek location and the Line 7 project at the Pernis location.

Responsibility includes development of best practice project execution strategy for both the FEED and EPCm phase.

As Member of the Thermon Management Team responsible for project execution for projects in the Eastern Hemisphere (Total 12 offices) and strategic development of Project Management, Project Controls and Engineering for the Eastern Hemisphere affiliates.

Director of Project Services

As member of the General Management Team responsible for the management of and strategic decision making for the project services group, consisting of the planning and scheduling, cost engineering, estimating, materials management and project engineering management departments.

Senior Project Manager/Project Director

Deputy Project Director for the Essar Oil Refinery Project in India. Project executed as a Consortium with Sembcorp Simon Carves for the PMC services for a 10.5 MM ton per annum refinery. Total installed cost (CAPEX) 1.8 Billion USD.

Project Director Responsibility for Agip Gas, Western Libya Gas Project for the provisions of the NC41 Onshore Plant, Mellitah. Onshore Gas Treating and Sulfur Recovery. Plant capacity: 6.6 BSCM/Y. Project executed in a Consortium with Snamprogetti and Hyundai Engineering and Construction. Total contract value 1.2 Billion USD.

In addition to the above, providing project management support on various major proposal efforts and risk reviews.

Project Manager

Project management responsibility for the engineering, procurement and construction of the following projects:

  • Shell, Seraya-2 Project, Singapore; for the SMPO-2 process units. Total Contract value 850 MUSD
  • Kemya Olefins Project, Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia; for the offsites area of the Kemya Ethylene Plant including cold storage facilities. Total contract value 650 MUSD
  • ARCO, PO-11 Project, Botlek, The Netherlands; for the implementation of the electronic Document and Data Management System.

Project Engineering Manager

Responsible for the coordination of all engineering disciplines with procurement and construction including as-built documentation.

  • Shell MSPO-2 Project, Moerdijk, The Netherlands; development of project definition package, definitive cost estimate and detail engineering.
  • IGCC Power Plant, Finland. Preparation of the engineering execution plan for the proposal of a combined cycle power plant (400 MW).
  • Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname - Refinery Phase 1 LSTK Contract (visbreaker, vacuum/pre-flash & utilities).
